Tenin Karakusa Jisen Sakuhinshuu

Kyoko Okamura, age 30. Keeeeeeeeeeeee! What happens when a girl who was raised by poisonous parents or a child who was abandoned become adults? Five selections of traumatic manga stories that convey Ryoko Yamagishi's genius. In "Tennin Karakusa," a young girl raised by an anachronistically strict father grows up with mixed emotions, overly wary of others. In "Harpy," a female-faced bird-monster from Greek mythology appears as a beautiful girl before the eyes of a boy living an ordinary high school life. In "Kitsunejo," a boy born to a concubine is taken in by the family of his deceased father and searches for his "real mother." "Kago no Naka no Tori" tells the story of a boy of "bird-man" blood, who has the special ability to hear the words of the dead, and a folklorist named Hitomi, whose love for him transcends the love of her own flesh and blood. Sumio heads to H-city during a heat wave to take care of the animal at his grandfather's house while he's away on an overseas trip. "Natsu no Guuwa" describes his mysterious experience with a girl he meets in a park. Yamagishi's world is so sad, painful, and poignant that you will surely be struck by her genius and the depth of her world! (Source: Bunshun, translated) Collected Stories: 1.
