To thwart the plot of the original novel and avoid his fated demise, Emperor Clifford forces Senelia to usurp the original female lead as the male lead’s lover. As a plant, Senelia is to weaken him so that he cannot challenge Clifford’s throne. But Senelia falls for the man, Veneruccia, whom she’s meant to undo.
