Mimi-uri Shoujo

“Would anyone like a freshly cut ear?” A girl’s voice, sad and fading away, drifts in along with the sound of the bell. No one has ever bought that ear. Yet the mysterious girl sells ears almost every night… Active since the early days when kamishibai, akahon, and rental manga were the mainstream, Noboru Yoshimi—who used various pen names such as Yasumi Hara, Yoshimi Ogata, and Eisuke Sugata— churned out a vast number of works. From a body of work said to total over 300 volumes, the highly acclaimed masterpiece Mimi-uri Shoujo is finally being reprinted! Also included is the bizarre masterpiece Noroi wo Anata ni, featuring an unpredictable plot twist at the very end that will make you rub your eyes in disbelief. Even if the content—with its ad-hoc plot developments and unresolved foreshadowing—may at times feel inconsistent, please savor the unique world of Noboru Yoshimi, where these elements, combined with his distinctive artistic style, are elevated into a one-of-a-kind charm.
