Hoshi wo Kazoeru Koto

First Volume: Emori Kunihiko gets depressed when his girlfriend breaks up with him. Then a random stranger goes out of his way to be friendly, and Emori responds with resentment and resistance. (Included in the first volume are two oneshots unrelated to the main story, about a salaryman's relationship with a pair of twins.) Final Volume: Dragged out of his shell into new adventures by the outgoing Makishima Atsushi, Emori finds himself enjoying life for the first time in a long time. If only Emori could make Makishima listen to him.
