Kengo Yoshida, a student at Takami Middle School, was incredibly skilled in a fight, the kind of guy who would beat up a high school student who had mugged his best friend, Mamoru, and then steal all of the victim’s money. When the high school student’s older brother, a yakuza, came to seek revenge, Kengo didn’t flinch at all and ended up beating him to a pulp as well. One day, when Kengo happened to run into that yakuza on the street, the boss of the gang recognized his strength and recommended he join the gang, but Kengo laughed it off and refused. Kengo was beaten to a pulp by a group of yakuza and thrown into the sea, but he somehow managed to survive. He then attacked the yakuza’s office with a backhoe. After pulling off such a stunt, Kengo felt he could no longer stay in Nagoya, so he followed Mamoru to Tokyo. (Source: Shueisha, translated)
